Barone Pinot Grigio - A Spectator Best Buy
The 1998 recently scored an 86 Best Buy in the complete review of Pinot Grigio's in the August 1999 issue of the Wine Enthusiast. Over 100 Pinot Grigio' s were rated and only 11 scored better than Barone, but all at shelf prices of $10 or more (Barone is a $5.99 to $6.99 on the shelf). The tasting notes: "a crisp mineral-tinged nose opens into a mouthful of melony, herbal flavors. Crisp acidity and good length, with a hint of lemon on the back end."
Two VIP trips scheduled for 2000
The first VIP trip in 1999 was so successful that we are running TWO trips in 2000. Here are the dates: The Northeast Region trip, escorted by Johnny Vesce: May 4 to May 13. The Greater USA trip, escorted by Susan and Mario Belardino: May 11 to May 20. Please mark your calendars. The participants will be drawn from a combination of retailer and restaurant clients, sales contest award winners, distributor principals, and sales managers. The trips will include plenty of sightseeing in Rome, Florence, and Venice, not to mention the localities on the way to and around the Bedford suppliers.
