Torre Rosazza scores well in the Spectator

Torre Rosazza Scores A 90 in The 31 May 2002 Spectator with its Pinot Bianco "Ronco delle Magnolie 2000." The Spectator said: "Dried pineapple, melon and green apple aromas follow through to a full body, with lots of fruit and a long, appley aftertaste…"

Also scoring well with an 88 was the Chardonnay 2000 from Torre Rosazza: "Beautiful and subtle aromas of apples, piecrust and cream. Medium to full bodied, with lovely fruit and a fine, fresh aftertaste. Extremely creamy…"

Torre Rosazza is a one of the finest estates in the Friuli - Colli Orientali area of Italy. Donato Lanati, one of Italy's finest enologists, is the wine consultant for the estate. Piero Totis, the estate's director, said that the hard work in the vineyards and the enormous investment in the most modern equipment is paying off big for our estate. Donato Lanati was the last piece of the puzzle that was needed to catapult our image to the highest level. You can expect continued levels of excellence from Torre Rosazza in the future."

Even his most prestigious wines are commendably accessible...Despite its rich extract the Recioto 1999 is delicate and stylish, easy going and drinkable and these characteristics merit the maximum accolade of the Three Glasses."

The de Corato family has entrusted the winemaking to the able Leonardo Palumbo, whose forte is shaping modern-style wines that still reflect their origin. As a result, the "Il Falcone" 1998 came within a hair of Three Glasses. It is deep, opaque ruby. The red berry fruit jam nose is delicately spicy, then the palate is complex and elegant, with an almost super-ripe character and flavors of Mediterranean scrub. "
