  • The “Tower of Janus” was erected in Torgiano by the ancient Romans and dedicated to the double-headed god of beginnings and endings
  • The label shows a panel illustrating a 13th century harvest from Fontana Maggiore in Perugia
  • One of Italy’s first DOC wines (1968) and produced exclusively from free-run juice

  • Accompaniment: excellent aperitif yet perfect with all fish dishes, salads, and pastas

“DULCIS” VINO LIQUOROSO

 
  • Proprietary blend of traditional white Umbrian varietals
  • The engraving depicted on the label is part of the bas-relief decoration on a 16th-century wafer iron on display at Lungarotti’s Wine Museum in Torgiano
  • The must is processed using the “liquoroso” (fortified) method
  • Aged 24 months in oak vats and barriques, then bottle aged for several months
  • Intense and brilliant topaz color, the bouquet recalls orange blossoms with delicate almond aroma and candied fruit
  • Soft, warm, and delicately alcoholic; very persistent in the body with a finish of dry white fruit, especially apricots and figs
